Transform Oracle Data Into Actionable Insights

Wednesday December 9 | 9:00 am – 9:25 am PST

Let’s face it. With the volatility of the market and increasing uncertainties that arise within your supply chain, you need actionable insights to contend with competitors spurred on by digital transformation efforts. The valuable data stored in your ERP system can help you make informed decisions, but, that data is the toughest to unlock. Getting the insights you need is a slow, complex, and expensive project – and your BI tool is only as intelligent as the business acumen your organization can deliver to it. What you need is both a view of what is happening in the cockpit of the plane you are flying AND a flight plan. In other words, you need real-time reporting and deep business insights to provide continuous intelligence for your enterprise.

In this session, our speakers will address:

  • The state of Business Intelligence; What’s so “intelligent” about BI anyway?
  • The challenges of accessing EBS data to make actionable decisions
  • How to delivers real insight from your Oracle data into your BI tool

Mastering Oracle Subledger Accounting (SLA) for EBS R12 Reporting and Analysis

Wednesday December 9 | 2:00pm – 2:25pm PST

  • Dean Ansermoz, Director, Product Management
  • Al Tietz, Sales Consultant
  • Chad Cosper, Senior Product Marketing Manager

With the release of R12 and the introduction of SLA came many beneficial changes that centralized the accounting engine.  Although the change gave accounting departments more control over the accounting of transactions, it also created challenges with account analysis and reconciliation.  Still today, many organizations on EBS R12 struggle with how to give their users real-time, efficient access to the underlying transactions that have been posted to the GL with the critical cross-referenced, in-line subledger details they need to explain account balances, variances, and outliers in complete detail.

Does your organization have the business insights needed to outthink and outmaneuver the competition? Watch our Noetix 7 video to learn how we’re helping organizations see more clearly and act more decisively.

Bridge the Gap Between Operational Reporting and Strategic Analytics

Modern enterprise applications are generating, gathering and storing more information than ever before. Your ERP system alone produces data at an astounding rate because it contains all the data you need to manage your core business activities such as financial accounting, manufacturing, supply chain management and human resources. Ironically, this abundance of data is more likely to obscure business insights than illuminate them.

As such, many companies find themselves in this data rich but insight poor predicament, prompting us to rethink that old BI model. In the white paper “Bridging the Gap Between Operational Reporting and Strategic Analytics” we propose a new way to derive meaningful business insights – specifically from Oracle Business Applications.

Bridging the Gap Between Operational Reporting and Strategic Analytics

Key topics:

  • Why traditional BI – which requires near-constant involvement from IT staff and a complex IT environment – isn’t working
  • Modern BI needs to bridge the gap between operational reporting and strategic analytics to deliver business insights that allow you to respond faster and with greater confidence
  • Key BI platform characteristics include integration, intelligence and ease-of-use
  • Magnitude Noetix enables enterprises using Oracle Business Applications to achieve real-time reporting and deeper business insights

There is a clear difference between operational reporting and BI, but they can and should work together. Magnitude Noetix’s integrated platform delivers a powerful data model, library of pre-built, no-code business reports and robust process analytics engine to help you unlock the power of your enterprise data and gain actionable insights to act with decisiveness in an uncertain and quickly changing world.

Traditional BI is dead. Start thinking for the future and seeing more clearly with Noetix 7.

Cloud-enabled Platform Puts Enterprise Data in Hands of Business Users for Real-Time Insights

Strategic business intelligence is crucial for business leaders to see clearly and act decisively. That intelligence is derived from data. As businesses are awash with data, many still struggle to identify what’s most important and what actions to take. Gartner asserts the need to progress from data to insights to model to action, and predicts that by 2022, more than half of major new business systems will incorporate continuous intelligence that uses real-time context data to improve decisions.

Our reality is that business operations have never been more fragmented giving the requirements to access and integrate more and more data sets across on-premises and cloud-based applications. What we hear from customers is that the strategy is only as good as the operational execution, and to operate efficiently you need to unlock operational insights. This is where Noetix comes in—and it’s the bedrock of what Magnitude enables for our customers. The release of Noetix 7, our next-generation, cloud-ready reporting and analytics solutions built specifically to solve the evolving challenges in Oracle EBS, represents a big step forward in our journey to deliver operational execution in a vastly more efficient way.

Noetix 7 is the culmination of our latest innovations to help enterprises unlock the power of their enterprise data and gain actionable insights to run their business. Specifically, our support for cloud applications and cloud deployment models is designed for today’s hybrid cloud architectures and brings the power of Noetix business insights to even the most complex and distributed data landscapes.

This is the start of the next chapter of our journey to enable business users to harness the power of their data for rapid insights and real-time decisions. Watch this space as we continue to help enterprises transform application data to insights to accelerate operational execution through action.

How to Overcome 4 Operational Reporting Challenges with NoetixViews

The complexity of reporting on Oracle ERPs continues to be hot button issue for many business users in 2020. Last month, I addressed this topic at the Rocky Mountain Oracle Uses Group (RMOUG) Training Days event in my session titled: How to Overcome the BI Challenges of Today and Tomorrow.

To set the stage, here are three major themes on our product vision and how we’ve invested in transforming our solutions to support our customers’ evolving reporting and analytics needs:

  • Enabling our products to be compatible with cloud technologies to expand the value of our offering and improve the customer experience
  • Support a fractured environment with real-time, operational reporting and integrated analytics
  • Accelerate tech modernization for customer reporting projects

Today, many of our customers are moving towards a hybrid cloud environment and there a number of operational and analytical reporting challenges at play.

Operational Reporting: Top challenges and outcomes:

Heavy reliance on IT causes delays and user frustration: Often times, business users are hindered by the standard Oracle reports and by IT to provide them with data beyond what’s available in a report to do their jobs effectively and to answer the day-to-day questions about the operations of their business.  As such, IT becomes the bottleneck for process improvement involving access or preparation of data from the transactional system and users become frustrated waiting for reports to be developed.

Outcome: With Noetix, IT organizations can free themselves from the mundane tasks of report development and find the bandwidth to work on more value-add activities, while providing a solution they can trust in the hands of their users.

Data silos prevent self-service and lower data confidence: Many organizations have partitioned off their data to solve specific reporting challenges. For example, some companies rely on data warehouses to feed data from multiple source systems and turn that data into intelligence to support critical, strategic decisions. Typically, these systems do not require real-time data feeds and are refreshed nightly.

Outcome: With Noetix, users now have a way to access their transactional systems in real-time to minimize any delays and eliminate the need to reconcile data.

Inflexible, static reports prevent collaboration and lower productivity:  Most often, business users need to run multiple standard reports to get the answers they need.

Outcome: By leveraging Noetix, they can continue with the same report by simply adding a column, extending with another NoetixViews, or modifying the NoetixView with additional columns found in the Oracle database.

Unsupported tools, data models lead to unexpected errors and rework: Business users need to stay up to date with the latest versions of applications and reporting tools. As reporting tools become unsupported, they end up having to switch. It takes significant effort to ensure that current reports will continue to function in the current or new reporting tool to avoid disruption to the business.

Outcome: With Noetix, there is minimal effort to ensure reports will continue to function since the Noetix data model is supported and protected from application upgrades and we continue to provide generators for the latest tools.

We’re constantly listening to our customers’ needs to understand and support the changing technologies and tools that they’re adopting within their organization.  In my next post, I’ll address the challenges and outcomes with strategic enterprise analytics.
