Noetix Goes Green(er)! – Continuing Green Initiatives in 2011

Noetix is proud to announce that it was recently selected for King County’s annual list of Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Reduction for the third consecutive year.

Most recently, Noetix has employed the following recycling and waste reduction efforts:

  • Noetix is in the process of implementing its own “Free-Cycle” website to allow employees to give away items they no longer need.
  • Noetix joined several new TerraCycle Recycling Brigades (http://terracycle.net/) in order to recycle computer keyboards, Paper Mate pens, EXPO markers, Starbucks coffee bags, and personal care and beauty products.
  • Noetix joined Puget Sound Energy’s CFL Collection Recycling Program. Noetix now recycles employees’ used CFL bulbs.

Three years after the formation of the Noetix Green Committee, the company recycles all batteries, outdated PDAs, and cell phones. All employees are encouraged to bring in their old batteries and hand-held electronics for recycling. In fact, the battery recycling company has informed us that we’ve recycled 109 pounds of batteries during the past year!

The Noetix Green Committee continues to meet quarterly to discuss recycling and waste reduction ideas. Since its formation, the committee has launched a food composting program for proper disposal of coffee filters/grounds and food scraps. Ceramic plates and real silverware in the lunchroom have reduced the need for biodegradable plates and utensils by 50 percent.

In addition to “green” tips posted throughout the office, Noetix helps to further educate its employees through the Green Committee’s intranet page, which stresses the importance of greener lifestyles. The page provides up-to-date news about recycling and “green” events. A quarterly “green” e-mail newsletter is also sent out to all employees to remind them of the company’s recycling efforts. Noetix has also expanded its recycling efforts globally by starting a Green Committee at its office in Hyderabad, India.

Noetix 2010 – A Year in Review

Despite persistent worldwide economic challenges, Noetix kicked-off 2010 with record profitability in the first half, and continued to add industry leading names to the customer portfolio throughout the rest of the year.

Noetix received numerous corporate awards during the year including a finalist nomination for the 2010 Stevie American Business Awards in the Best Overall Company of the Year with up to 2,500 employees category, and inclusion in listings such as Seattle Business Magazine’s Best Companies to Work For in Washington, KMWorld’s 100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management, and King County’s Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Reduction.

Noetix products also created a well-deserved buzz. Noetix Analytics, earning KMWorld’s 2010 “Trend-Setting Product of the Year” award, delivers strategic reporting solutions to customers along with a whole host of packaged analytical applications.

In addition to providing ongoing product enhancements, Noetix Engineering introduced the next-generation operational reporting solution for Oracle E-Business Suite – NoetixViews, which now includes global views for Oracle Financials, U.S. Federal Financials, Supply Chain, Discrete Manufacturing, Projects, and Enterprise Asset Management. This new offering joins the previously released global views for Oracle’s Human Resource Management System application suite, Process Manufacturing and Service suites, and Advanced Supply Chain Planning.

We look forward to this new year with hope for continued economic recovery. Noetix remains steadfast in its dedication to helping maximize the investments that your organization has made in our products, as well as enterprise applications and BI tools.

Noetix Featured in IDC Analyst Connection Report

Business Intelligence Solutions – Now More than Ever

Tech industry analyst firm IDC recently invited Noetix to participate in an Analyst Connection trend report on business intelligence. Noetix posed a series of questions to Dan Vesset, program vice president of IDC’s Business Analytics research, on behalf of Noetix’s customers. An excerpt from the report follows. To read the full report, click here.

Q. How does the economy affect the way companies think about and invest in business intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions?

A. Lack of visibility has been one of the key effects of the recession and the current slow economic recovery. Managers have been required to react to a growing number of unknowable factors. This requirement drives the need for flexibility and agility at the operational and tactical decision-making level. As a result, decision makers at all levels of the organization are seeking support from tools that enable rapid access to the freshest, most relevant, and actionable information. In addition, there is a growing body of evidence that BI and analytics solutions play a significant role in creating competitive advantage. In combination, these factors contribute to a continued investment in BI and analytics technology and processes across organizations of all sizes.

Noetix Goes Green(er) – 2010 Green Initiatives

Two years ago, Noetix formed the Noetix Green Committee to help oversee all of the recycling and waste reduction efforts at the company. Before the committee was created, only basic recycling was taking place at Noetix, which included a recycle bin at each employee’s desk for paper, plastic, and aluminum recycling. The Green Committee has since initiated many new recycling and waste reduction programs. Noetix now recycles all of its paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum, and glass products, as well as recycling old batteries, CFL bulbs, and plastic grocery bags. Read more
