Invacare Corp. has received the 2012 Ventana Research Leadership Award in Operational Intelligence for an IT initiative called the Invacare Business Management System (known internally as iBiz). According to Ventana, the awards distinguish corporate pioneers and leaders that demonstrate clear visionary and transformative leadership to achieve spectacular outcomes.
Invacare’s iBiz initiative brought to light the need for a modern business intelligence system. In particular, Invacare management wanted the ability to conduct invoice line item detail in order to drill down into the details of things such as sales orders. Up to that time, they had only been able to view the business’ financial data at a very high level.
Invacare’s IT department conducted an analysis of several major BI vendors and selected Noetix Analytics as the solution of choice because Noetix had a strong competency around Oracle and it was also more affordable and flexible than the other available options. Today, Invacare is in the process of implementing Noetix Analytics as its global management reporting tool, positioning it as the data repository for all of the company’s transactional systems.
“This is the largest industry technology awards to date with over 26 awards honoring individuals and organizations of all industries and sizes from across the world that have distinguished themselves in their approach to using software and technology,” said Mark Smith, CEO and Chief Research Officer, Ventana Research. “I would also like to congratulate the organizations and individuals for their achievements and also to congratulate the technology vendors for their support in helping their customers find the most value from their investments.”
