Noetix Named one of King County’s Best Workplaces for Recycling

BWP-2014-icon_200x231Noetix holds a strong commitment to running an Earth-friendly business and it shows: we have been selected for King County’s annual list of Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Reduction for the sixth consecutive year.

King County’s Solid Waste Division initiated the list eight years ago to recognize local businesses for their commitment to making recycling a priority for their companies.  To qualify as a Best Workplace for Recycling and Waste Reduction, companies must meet at least 10 criteria from a list of more than 30 best practice business recycling processes that range from placing recycling bins by every desk to collecting food scraps for composting.

In 2014, nearly 100 King County businesses demonstrated fulfillment of the listing’s criteria and provided individual stories about how their actions help reduce the impacts of climate change and feed recycled materials back into the economy.

Thanks to the Noetix Green Committee, Noetix employees recycle all paper, plastic, glass, and aluminum products, as well as batteries, plastic grocery bags, cell phones, and compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL).  Noetix composts all food scraps, coffee grounds, and coffee filters, as well as corn-based plates, bowls, and utensils.  The Noetix Events Committee makes waste reduction a part of every employee event and has hosted several zero waste company picnics. Noetix also reuses all delivery boxes and packaging.

“Hats off to Noetix employees for working so hard to make Noetix an environmentally friendly place to work,” said Mark Verner, business and operations manager at Noetix.  “We are well on our way towards a zero waste policy for the company and it is incredibly fulfilling to know we can make a difference.”
